S oftware tools to automate marketing on Twitter were being heavily promoted several ago. It was thought that Twitter was one of the most effective ways to grow a list and to get people to order the products you are advertising. However, how much of a bang for your buck do you get from any of these programs that were pushed at us to improve our profits? Exactly how good is Twitter marketing? This article will examine the case for becoming involved and to see if it will actually repay your time and effort. Look into the following top list of social networks to help you.

I was one of those who was interested to find out if getting a large following on Twitter was going to help my product promotion endeavors and so purchased the tools. I joined programs that promised to get me followers on Twitter and bought software tools to help advertise my products. All in all, I ended up paying for about eight different programs that would aid me with all of this.

One of these tools was an automatic ‘people follower’ on Twitter with the intention that some of those people would follow me in return. If someone was not following me, I had another program that would automatically delete them from my to-follow list. Deleting non-followers meant I could devote my attention on individuals who might be swayed to follow me. Along with some other tools that are not really worth mentioning, I invested in a program that would automatically take my blog posts and automatically Tweet them as soon as they were published on my blog. I must say that the combined effect of utilizing all these software together generated great results as each program did as advertised. I was rapidly brought down to earth when I checked my spreadsheet and found that I wasn’t actually generating any money! I would post to my blog 10 times every day and those blog posts would be shown directly on Twitter just like they should. Then I found a way to have all the blog entries done for me automatically, assuming that the more posts I would have the more people who would see them.

So permit me to share with you my results. After three years using these methods, I had built about 10,000 Twitter followers. You’d probably be very pleased to achieve that number of followers, but there’s more to come. In the same 3 year period, my Twitter account collected at least 15,000 blog posts that had links to my affiliate offers. And that was the only campaigning that I did for that blog, I decided not to even ping the posts to see precisely what Twitter could do for me. Exactly how ‘good’ it was quickly became apparent: after 3 years just two affiliate sales generated $46.74 plus a further $9.10 for Adsense. With only 2 – 4 visits each day coming from Twitter, maybe this is not surprising.

In a nutshell, having roughly ten thousand followers on Twitter using all these Twitter marketing tools will not give you the results you are looking for. At the end of the day I’m now out of money for the Twitter marketing tools I invested in because my dollar return was so dismal. Finally, I cannot personally recommend using automatic software tools as a financially viable means of advertising your products on Twitter.
